Reflecting on finishing my degree

It’s been joy and it’s been pain. It’s been elation and it’s been heartache. But it’s done. I am not satisfied with all that has transpired, but I am satisfied with my determination to finish. I know I succumbed to some struggles, but I later overcame some of them. I made progress. It wasn’t a straight line, and it certainly wasn’t any hero’s journey nonsense. It was just one person trying to do their best given their circumstances. Unlike some other difficult challenges, this one I took on voluntarily, and I completed it voluntarily. I completed the most long-term goal I have ever set. I have now unofficially graduated in my degree in photography. I made it. I passed. I succeeded.
